According to statistics from the Bureau of Statistics, from January to December 2013, enterprises above designated size in the textile and garment industry in Jiangsu Province achieved a total industrial output value of 1,311.41 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.0%; the main business income was 1,329.76 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.1%. It is nearly 2 percentage points lower than the national average, accounting for 20.4% of the national total, ranking first in the country; the total profit of the entire industry was 68.29 billion yuan, an increase of 11.02% year-on-year, and the number of loss-making enterprises above designated size decreased by 2.25% year-on-year. From the data point of view, the year-on-year growth of the total profit of the industry is higher than the total industrial output value of the industry, and the number of loss-making enterprises has declined, indicating that Jiangsu Textile and Garment adheres to the transformation and upgrading of the industry, adjusts the industrial structure, strengthens brand building, and the results are gradually showing.
